pandemics...While WeWork and others are gone or shrunk, we are still here!
Thankfully.

*This has been is hard. I'm tired. Alot. I'm frustrated. Alot. I'm joyful.
Alot. I'm stretched...daily.*

Below I share the 3 most impactful people (outside of you, my clients and
myself) in my business in 2022.

In each case, I trust them. We dedicated the time to the relationship to
ensure a successful outcome AND I share my full truth with them.

*While everyone should not have access to your sausage-making, angst,
self-doubt, fears, celebrations, wins, etc. SOMEONE should.*

In 2022 I did something that I=E2=80=99d never done in business before.

*I FOCUSED.*

I refused to let myself get swayed by social media posts, new and
overpromising coaches or programs or any other shiny new things.

*At the top of 2022 I decided that I would ONLY work with 3 people and they
would serve very specific roles in my business journey.*

This approach led to me becoming a better business person and increasing
revenues from 2021 to 2022 a little under 200% with a high of generating
225% more revenue in the month of October 2022 versus the same month of
2021.

That=E2=80=99s the power of focus. BUT I didn=E2=80=99t do it alone. I=E2=
=80=99m great at marketing
and relationships and not so great at administrative tasks. I also can
overthink and mull ideas and opportunities over in my head.

There=E2=80=99s an African Proverb:

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with others.

I modify that quote to say:

First up, I hired *ONE COACH*. Stacey Hylen

In addition to one-on-one meetings with Stacey, I had the benefit of the
knowledge and expertise of the other women entrepreneurs in the Mastermind.

I REFUSED to purchase anyone else=E2=80=99s courses or get any other coachi=
ng, and
that decision led to my mindset shifting, gaining access to an amazing
coach turned friend, and expanding my network with the other ladies.

*Your IMPLEMENT IT! Takeaway:*

1. Identify what you want to accomplish next that requires outside
   investment of your time and finances.
   2. Determine the best way for you to learn - while I=E2=80=99m not big o=
n group
   activities, showing up for our bi-weekly masterminds and having access t=
o
   Stacey all other times in between worked well for how I process informat=
ion
   and need feedback in my decision-making.
   3. DO NOT allow yourself to get caught up in shiny object (or coach)
   syndrome. Make your choice and unless something goes really wrong=E2=80=
=94like the
   person doesn=E2=80=99t deliver on her promises=E2=80=94DO NOT BAIL=E2=80=
=94trust the process. Trust
   your decision.
   4. TRUST YOUR COACH.

*ONE MENTOR*. In 2021, I formally asked my then informal mentor, Pompey
Mansilla to become my *sales mentor.*

I was spiraling after opening my coworking space in 2020 and knew that the
only way our doors would remain open was if I increased sales=E2=80=A6in a
pandemic.

Whew, thankfully Pompey has over 25 years of sales experience.

He=E2=80=99s built multiple companies and grown them to tens of millions of
dollars. He had no clue about my business model but he understood sales and
is great at seeing opportunities and creative sales strategies. He's since
morphed into more than my sales mentor, advising on multiple areas of my
business and becoming a treasured friend.

1. Find someone who has the SPECIFIC expertise you need

2. Ensure that they have the time and dedication

3. SET a SCHEDULE to meet

4. Show up to your meetings with SPECIFIC questions, problems,
hurdles--it's not up to your mentor to figure out what's wrong--they're
here to help you fix, strategize, accelerate.

5. RESPECT HIS OR HER TIME!!!! Show up.

6. Be grateful. Buy the coffee, dinner, lunch. Even if they have more money
than you.

7. [IF NECESSARY] Pay for a mentor.

*My Accountabilibuddy.* David, who is an insurance broker, and I have been
off and on Accountabilibuddies for almost 5 years.

However, in 2022 we got serious. We have a weekly phone call (I=E2=80=99ll =
discuss
this below) that does not last more than 15 minutes=E2=80=94and usually clo=
ser to
10 minutes. We are peers even though we are in completely different
industries.

*BOTH OF OUR BUSINESSES GREW from 2021 to 2022. Mine I stated above. And
David incereased revenue by 70%, implemented systems and has a plan to 10x
in 2023! *

The POWER OF ACCOUNTABILIBUDDIES IS REAL!

*IMPLEMENT IT! Takeaway:*

1. David and I don't like talking on the phone, so it was easy for us to
ensure our calls are efficient. We don't talk about anything other than our
goals.

2. We have a structure. We go in turn. Limit comments and end with aksing,
"How can I support you with that?/What do you want me to ask you next
week?" or similar supportive questions.

3. We follow up and have implemented various "consequences" when we don't
do what we've said we would. Full disclosure: There was one point in prior
years where we basically would cashapp the same $5 back and forth. Don't
judge us!

4. Our Accountabilibuddy relationship is not about telling the other what
to do. We know what we each need to do, it's about ensuring we get it done.

*IMPORTANT BONUS: *

*Please note that none of the 3 people above look like me. David is a Black
Man, Pompey is a Latino Man and Stacey is a White Woman.*

I bring this up because many of us seek counsel only from people who are
similar to us in industry, school of thought, gender, sex, ethnicity, etc.

When you know where you want to go and seek people to help you get there
the ONLY things that matter are that your goals and their goals for you
align and that they are skilled, dedicated to your success and
heart-centered (that last one may not matter to you, but it=E2=80=99s HUGE =
for me!).

So, as you look ahead to your goals and plans for 2023 and beyond, I hope

margin-bottom:10px;line-height:150%">I refused to let myself get swayed by =
social media posts, new and overpromising coaches or programs or any other =
shiny new things.</p>

margin-bottom:10px;line-height:150%"><strong>At the top of 2022 I decided t=
hat I would ONLY work with 3 people and they would serve very specific role=
s in my business journey.</strong></p>

margin-bottom:10px;line-height:150%">This approach led to me becoming a bet=
ter business person and increasing revenues from 2021 to 2022 a little unde=
r 200% with a high of generating 225% more revenue in the month of October =
2022 versus the same month of 2021.</p>

margin-bottom:10px;line-height:150%">That=E2=80=99s the power of focus. BUT=
 I didn=E2=80=99t do it alone. I=E2=80=99m great at marketing and relations=
hips and not so great at administrative tasks. I also can overthink and mul=
l ideas and opportunities over in my head.</p>
