When I started my Virtual Assistant business in 2010=2C I had my head in t=
he sand when it came to my finances.

Not wanting to know how much debt I actually had=2C I continued to make fi=
nancial decisions based on my feelings and avoided the facts of my reality=
=2E For some crazy reason=2C doing this made me feel insulated and safe.

My intentions were good. Every morning=2C I thought to myself=2C today is=
 the day. =E2=80=9CToday is the day I will look at my finances and figure=
 out what=E2=80=99s going on.=E2=80=9D Every night=2C I would ask myself=
=2C =E2=80=9CWhere did the day go?=E2=80=9D I would rationalize and tell m=
yself=2C =E2=80=9CI=E2=80=99m too tired; I=E2=80=99ll do it tomorrow.=E2=
=80=9D

Every day=2C I believed I was telling myself the truth. But I wasn=E2=80=
=99t. Taming my finances wasn=E2=80=99t hard or beyond my reach=2C I just=
 couldn=E2=80=99t bring myself to start.

Then=2C one day=2C I decided I couldn=E2=80=99t go on like that anymore.

I realized that the problem was the amount of pressure I was putting on my=
self and how emotional it felt to confront my situation. I had so much jud=
gment running through my head and was doubting my ability to deal with it=
 all.

No wonder I was avoiding it.

I see Virtual Assistants starting their business doing the same thing. The=
y want every aspect of their business to be set up perfectly; they want to=
 never get overwhelmed. They=E2=80=99re telling themselves they want to be=
 successful=2C but at the same time=2C thinking they're not capable. And t=
hey're setting unrealistic expectations about how long it should take to g=
et a business off the ground.

When it takes longer than they expect=2C they blame themselves for not bei=
ng smart enough=2C good enough=2C [fill in the blank] enough.

If this is you=2C you=E2=80=99ve got to stop. All you=E2=80=99re doing is=
 prolonging the feelings of discouragement and frustration.

Get into action instead:
* Decide if you really want to be a business owner. Building a business is=
 a marathon=2C not a sprint. So if you=E2=80=99re dabbling for a few month=
s to see what will happen=2C don=E2=80=99t waste your time.
The question that will get you closer to success is not =E2=80=9CCan I do=
 this?=E2=80=9D It=E2=80=99s =E2=80=9CWhat can I do today to make this wor=
k?=E2=80=9D

* Choose ONE area of your business to focus on at a time=2C and don=E2=80=
=99t stop until you=E2=80=99re finished. Take on something small to begin=
 so you can get some momentum and have a win under your belt.

* Don=E2=80=99t wait to start your journey as a Virtual Assistant until yo=
u know everything. Just pay attention to what you need to know right now.=
 It=E2=80=99s ok that you don=E2=80=99t know what you don=E2=80=99t know.=
 Just calm down. You know enough.

* Stop comparing yourself to others. All that will do is make you feel def=
eated. You are where you are; the only way to change that is to get moving=
=2E Your success is yours. Put on your blinders.

Running a successful business is more about mindset than skill set. So=2C=
 please pay close attention to your expectations and beliefs and shift the=
m when necessary to ensure your success.

 I started my Virtual Assistant business in 2010=2C <strong>I had my head=
 in the sand when it came to my finances. </strong><br>
<br>
Not wanting to know how much debt I actually had=2C I continued to make fi=
nancial decisions based on my feelings and avoided the facts of my reality=
=2E For some crazy reason=2C doing this made me feel insulated and safe.<br>
<br>
<strong>My intentions were good.</strong> Every morning=2C I thought to my=
self=2C today is the day. =E2=80=9C<em>Today is the day I will look at my=
 finances and figure out what=E2=80=99s going on.</em>=E2=80=9D Every nigh=
t=2C I would ask myself=2C =E2=80=9C<em>Where did the day go?</em>=E2=80=
=9D I would rationalize and tell myself=2C =E2=80=9C<em>I=E2=80=99m too ti=
red; I=E2=80=99ll do it tomorrow</em>.=E2=80=9D<br>
<br>
Every day=2C I believed I was telling myself the truth. But I wasn=E2=80=
=99t. Taming my finances wasn=E2=80=99t hard or beyond my reach=2C I just=
 couldn=E2=80=99t bring myself to start.<br>
<br>
<strong>Then=2C one day=2C I decided I couldn=E2=80=99t go on like that an=
ymore.</strong><br>
<br>
I realized that the problem was the amount of pressure I was putting on my=
self and how emotional it felt to confront my situation. I had so much jud=
gment running through my head and was doubting my ability to deal with it=
 all.<br>
<br>
<strong>No wonder I was avoiding it.</strong><br>
<br>
I see Virtual Assistants starting their business doing the same thing. The=
y want every aspect of their business to be set up perfectly; they want to=
 never get overwhelmed. They=E2=80=99re telling themselves they want to be=
 successful=2C but at the same time=2C thinking they're&nbsp;not capable.=
 And they're&nbsp;setting unrealistic expectations about how long it shoul=
d take to get a business off the ground.<br>
<br>
When it takes longer than they expect=2C they blame themselves for not bei=
ng smart enough=2C good enough=2C [fill in the blank] enough.<br>
<br>
If this is you=2C you=E2=80=99ve got to stop. All you=E2=80=99re doing is=
 prolonging the feelings of discouragement and frustration.<br>
<br>
<strong>Get into action instead:</strong></p>

webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;"><strong>Decide if you really want to be a=
 business owner. </strong>Building a business is a marathon=2C not a sprin=
t. So if you=E2=80=99re dabbling for a few months to see what will happen=
=2C don=E2=80=99t waste your time.<br>

=09The question that will get you closer to success is <strong><em>not</em=
> </strong>=E2=80=9C<em>Can I do this?</em>=E2=80=9D It=E2=80=99s =E2=80=
=9C<em>What can I do today to make this work?</em>=E2=80=9D<br>

webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;"><strong>Choose <em>ONE</em> area of your b=
usiness to focus on at a time=2C and don=E2=80=99t stop until you=E2=80=99=
re finished.</strong> Take on something small to begin so you can get some=
 momentum and have a win under your belt.<br>

webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;"><strong>Don=E2=80=99t wait to start your j=
ourney as a Virtual Assistant until you know everything. </strong>Just pay=
 attention to what you need to know right now. It=E2=80=99s ok that you do=
n=E2=80=99t know what you don=E2=80=99t know. Just calm down. You know eno=
ugh.<br>

</strong> All that will do is make you feel defeated. You are where you ar=
