The VA Buzz

As Virtual Assistants=2C we want to have thriving businesses. We know that=
 it will bring us time=2C freedom=2C and financial security. We want the b=
enefit of being able to work around important events in our lives=2C like=
 caring for aging parents=2C being at our kid=E2=80=99s baseball game or b=
allet lesson=2C or taking care of ourselves.

Yet we let our doubts and fears get in the way before we get started. So w=
e never take the first step=2C or we start and stop and start and stop bef=
ore we gain any traction.

And believe it or not=2C doing this=2C not really getting started=2C is wa=
y more exhausting than being successful.

While taking the first step can be scary=2C once you take it=2C I know fro=
m experience that it can also be energizing and exciting. This made me won=
der why more people don=E2=80=99t take the steps to have the success they=
 want=2C especially since there=E2=80=99s information available on how to=
 make this happen.

And then I read a quote that stopped me in my tracks. It gave me a giganti=
c aha:

Stop worrying about people who aren=E2=80=99t worried about you.

It=E2=80=99s a simple statement and it makes perfect sense=2C but how many=
 of us are doing the exact opposite? How many of us are making important l=
ife choices using the criteria of what other people will think?

Most of us. Let=E2=80=99s stop that now.

Imagine a conversation you might have with a friend or your child if they=
 said to you=2C =E2=80=9CI really want to be a fireman. I=E2=80=99ve dream=
ed of it my whole life=2C but Joey doesn=E2=80=99t think I can do it=2C so=
 I=E2=80=99m going to be an accountant.=E2=80=9D

What would your response be? You'd probably suggest they tell Joey to go t=
ake a hike!

Here are both ends of the spectrum when it comes to this kind of thinking:
* Someone might see me fail and I won=E2=80=99t be able to live that down.=
 I=E2=80=99ll be defeated.

* Someone might see me succeed and I can=E2=80=99t possibly live up to tha=
t. It=E2=80=99s just too much.

There is no room for growth=2C change=2C or the success you want in either=
 of these statements.

What if you tried something different instead?

What if you imagined how to make today successful and took the steps that=
 you know will make a difference? And then did the same thing again tomorr=
ow? And the day after that? That would make a difference.

Creating a successful Virtual Assistant business doesn=E2=80=99t happen ov=
ernight - that=E2=80=99s the good news. It=E2=80=99s not something that ha=
ppens to you=2C it=E2=80=99s something that you craft day by day=2C week b=
y week=2C year by year.

Build your business according to what=E2=80=99s in your heart and not stor=
ies we=E2=80=99re making up about what other people think. Trust me=2C you=
=E2=80=99ll be a much happier and more successful Virtual Assistant.

rtual Assistants=2C we want to have thriving businesses. We know that it w=
ill bring us time=2C freedom=2C and financial security.&nbsp;<strong>We wa=
nt the benefit of being able to work around important events in our lives<=
/strong>=2C like caring for aging parents=2C being at our kid=E2=80=99s ba=
seball game or ballet lesson=2C or taking care of ourselves.<br>
<br>
<strong>Yet we let our doubts and fears get in the way before we get start=
ed.&nbsp;</strong>So we never take the first step=2C or we start and stop=
 and start and stop before we gain any traction.<br>
<br>
And believe it or not=2C doing this=2C not really getting started=2C is wa=
y more exhausting than being successful.<br>
<br>
While taking the first step can be scary=2C once you take it=2C I know fro=
m experience that it can also be energizing and exciting. This made me won=
der why more people don=E2=80=99t take the steps to have the success they=
 want=2C especially since there=E2=80=99s information available on how to=
 make this happen.<br>
<br>
And then I read a quote that stopped me in my tracks. It gave me a giganti=
c aha:<br>
&nbsp;</p>
<em><strong>Stop worrying about people who aren=E2=80=99t worried about yo=
u.</strong></em><br>
&nbsp;

=80=99s a simple statement and it makes perfect sense=2C but how many of u=
s are doing the exact opposite? How many of us are making important life c=
hoices using the criteria of what other people will think?<br>

<strong>Most of us. Let=E2=80=99s stop that now.</strong><br>
<br>
Imagine a conversation you might have with a friend or your child if they=
 said to you=2C =E2=80=9CI really want to be a fireman. I=E2=80=99ve dream=
ed of it my whole life=2C but Joey doesn=E2=80=99t think I can do it=2C so=
 I=E2=80=99m going to be an accountant.=E2=80=9D<br>
<br>
What would your response be?&nbsp;<strong>You'd probably suggest they tell=
 Joey to go take a hike!</strong><br>
<br>
<strong>Here are both ends of the spectrum when it comes to this kind of t=
hinking:</strong>&nbsp;</p>

webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Someone might see me succeed and I can=E2=
=80=99t possibly live up to that. It=E2=80=99s just too much.</li>

 is no room for growth=2C change=2C or the success you want in either of t=
hese statements.<br>

<strong>What if you tried something different instead?&nbsp;</strong><br>

What if you imagined how to make today successful and took the steps that=
 you know will make a difference? And then did the same thing again tomorr=
ow? And the day after that? That would make a difference.<br>

Creating a successful Virtual Assistant business doesn=E2=80=99t happen ov=
ernight - that=E2=80=99s the good news. It=E2=80=99s not something that ha=
ppens&nbsp;<em>to</em>&nbsp;you=2C it=E2=80=99s something that you craft d=
