Last week=2C someone asked me what my primary service as a Virtual Assista=
nt is. Lots of thoughts ran through my mind: email newsletters=2C website=
 updates=2C and social media=2C to name a few. And then=2C in a flash=2C i=
t occurred to me what my primary service is =E2=80=93 and I think it will=
 surprise you.

It=E2=80=99s my attitude and that I radiate the thought =E2=80=9CI=E2=80=
=99ve got this=2C=E2=80=9D when speaking with my clients. I let them know=
 that I have skill at the task they=E2=80=99re asking me to do=2C and that=
 I=E2=80=99ll see it through to completion with them.

Here=E2=80=99s how it works:
1. I make sure I completely understand what they=E2=80=99re asking me to d=
o for them. I repeat the details back to them including deadlines and deli=
verables. This way=2C I can do a good job and they leave the conversation=
 feeling confident.

2. If they are interested=2C I let them know that I=E2=80=99ve done this t=
ype of work in the past (if that=E2=80=99s true) and briefly give them an=
 example without too much detail. If I like doing this particular work=2C=
 I say so. I=E2=80=99ll say something like=2C =E2=80=9CI love cleaning up=
 PowerPoint presentations. I find it very relaxing.=E2=80=9D Strangely eno=
ugh=2C that goes a long way toward building confidence.

3. I prioritize my work. Some of my work has specific and important detail=
s=2C like sending a newsletter out at an agreed upon time. Other work need=
s to get done=2C but within a few days=2C not a few hours. I make sure I t=
ake care of the work with specific deadlines first.

4. I meet my deadlines. When work has a specific deadline=2C I do EVERYTHI=
NG in my power to stay on track. If I=E2=80=99m going to slide in at the l=
ast minute with the work because I=E2=80=99m busy=2C I let them know that=
 too =E2=80=93 again instilling the feeling that I=E2=80=99m taking care o=
f them.
Of course=2C sometimes life happens and a deadline will be missed. In that=
 case=2C I tell the client the minute I realize that the deadline needs to=
 be renegotiated=2C and never wait until after it has passed. I am always=
 the one to let them know and I come to the conversation with an alternate=
 plan.

In a virtual world like ours=2C instilling confidence with clients builds=
 strong and long-lasting relationships. I invite you to take a look at you=
r client conversations and interactions and look for ways to subtly say to=
 them=2C =E2=80=9CI=E2=80=99ve got this!=E2=80=9D
