Hey!

You probably find yourself in 1 of three groups at this time of
year. Either you're the person that says:

* "I've got my New Year's goals all set with an implementation
plan, detailed strategy and extra layer of accountability"
* OR "Resolutions are silly! No one sticks to them and then you
just end up feeling bad. I'm just gonna keep doing me,"
* OR "Oh crap that's right! I should probably set some new
goals...right after I scroll Insta to see what other people's
goals are," =F0=9F=98=82

Wherever you find yourself, I wanted to share a quote that's been
really meaningful to me when it comes to personal improvement. It
comes from a book called, "Range," (

) by David Epstein. He says:

Compare yourself to yourself yesterday. Not to younger people who
aren=E2=80=99t you. Everyone progresses at a different rate. So don=E2=80=
=99t let
anyone else make you feel behind.
=E2=80=8B
You probably don=E2=80=99t even know where exactly you=E2=80=99re going. So
feeling behind doesn=E2=80=99t help.

This time of year, it's really easy to feel behind. It's really
easy to focus on all the things you wish you WOULD HAVE DONE in
2024 but either never got around to or didn't stay consistent
with.

...but, JUST MAYBE, you're further along than you think you are.

Maybe, if you scan out a little bit and think about where you've
come from over the last 10 years, you'll see a positive, forward
trajectory with some really great progress.

You might not be where you want to be, but you're probably no
where near where you were.

And, even if this last year was filled with it's fair share of
grief and loss, you're still here. And, that's not nothing. Some
times forward progress looks like getting out of bed every day
when it would be easier to stay in. Trust me. I've been there.

The thing that no one really talks about in the self-improvement
circles is that success is completely arbitrary. What looks like
success to me might be a bad day for you and vice versa.

So, don't let anyone else set the rules of success for you. You
get to decide what that looks like.

Set goals. Dream big.

But, as you do, remember the progress you've made. Set your new
goals from that vantage point. Then put one foot in front of the
other, day by day.

You'll have set backs. You'll get off track. That's okay. We all
do. It's all a part of growth.

Just keep showing up. Keep trying. Eventually, you'll look back
and be astonished at how far you've come.
